More Than Running

I did not grow up as a runner. In fact, I used to joke that if I was running, something was probably chasing me. My wife first encouraged me to start running as a way to exercise our dog while we were living in our first apartment together. What started casually turned into completing a few half marathons on minimal training and eventually discovering how powerful the running community and race environment can be.

At one point, I remember looking up Boston Qualifying times and thinking they seemed impossible. The idea of holding that pace for 26.2 miles felt unreal.

In 2021, after moving into a virtual role, I wanted to replace my daily commute with exercise and naturally returned to running. I set a goal to complete a marathon and finished my first in under four hours. From there, I became obsessed with improvement and started asking myself a simple question: how good can I become?

That journey led me from self training to working with a virtual coach and eventually improving my marathon personal best to 3:05 while balancing career, marriage, and raising four children.

Running has become much more than fitness for me. It has taught me discipline, patience, consistency, and perspective. It has made me a better husband, father, and person. I believe the lessons learned through training carry into every other area of life. There are no shortcuts. Meaningful progress comes from showing up consistently and doing the work over time.

That philosophy now drives how I coach others. I specialize in helping busy parents and professionals pursue meaningful running goals while balancing the responsibilities that matter most.
